Set of Formulas used with accident reconstruction. Formulas included are: Momentum Analysis, Chord & Mid Ordinate, Resultant Drag Factor, Crush Analysis, Critical Speed, Launch Analysis, and Slide to Skid.
Momentum Analysis:
Calculates the pre-impact velocity of two vehicles when the post-impact velocity
and approach and departure angle for each of the vehicles is known.
Chord & Mid-Ordinate:
Calculates the radius of a curve when the chord and mid-ordinate are known.
Resultant Drag Factor:
Calculates the resultant drag factor when the coefficient of friction for each
wheel, the vehicle weight, and the weight distribution by axle is known.
Crush Analysis:
Calcualtes the crush energy using the six-point equation for crush.
Critical Speed:
Calculates the maximum speed that a vehicle can be driven on a curve with a
given radius and coefficient of friction without side slip.
Launch Analysis:
Calculates the velocity of a vehicle at launch when the launch angle, launch
height, and launch distance are known.
Added in new 3 new sets of equations:
Basic Speed:
3 variations of calculating velocity, friction, and distance where 2 variables are known.
Distance:
3 variations on calculating distance travelled based on time, distance, and velocities.
Combined speed:
Calculating the combined speed using anywhere from
2 - 5 speeds.
Ability to convert all velocities from feet per second to miles per hour and back.
